In SBR-Plants (Sequenced Batch Reactor) Körting Ejectors fulfil the two following duties:
- Aeration
- Intermixing
These aeration plants (with retaining operation) in which amongst others, the biological processes of nitrification and de-nitrification take place in sequence in a tank, require a complete intermixing of the tank contents with and without air. The result of mounting and uniquely arranging ejectors for this process in the SBR reactor is that they can be utilised simultaneously for waste water aeration and intermixing during the aeration phase as well as for specific circulation – without the addition of air – during the mixing phase.
At plant standstill the sludge/water mixture can enter the air pipeline without causing adverse effects. During start-up the conveying effect of the ejector supports its drainage. The intensive flow directed towards the floor results in an immediate swirling up of the deposited sludge.
