The Venturi scrubber is utilised to separate dusts and hazes with particle sizes of less than 3 µm.
Amongst other things, dedusting is dependent on:

• particle diameter and -density
• droplet diameter and -quantity
• the relative velocity between particles and droplets.

Generally speaking, gas is conveyed through and accelerated in the scrubber itself by means of a blower, so providing the necessary relative velocity of up to 100 m/s required for the dedusting process. Very fine droplets created by the shearing forces capture the dust particles which, as a result of their mass moment of inertia, cannot follow the flow paths of the gas anymore.

With the help of further constructive measures it is possible to realise an additional control phase to deal with fluctuating volume flows.

Körting Venturi scrubbers can be supplied in a variety of currently available materials as an individual apparatus or in combination with other plant stages for diverse application cases and volume flows of upto 150.000 m³/h.
