Dedusting
Dedusting describes the separation of solid particles from a gas flow.
Filters or cyclones, sometimes also called cyclone separators, are used as dry dust collectors.
Jet scrubbers and Venturi scrubbers are normally used as wet dust collectors. They excel, particularly at high gas temperatures, because they can handle large exhaust flows. And jet scrubbers can also be used for conveying gas. In wet dedusting, the highway effect and effective relative velocities play a key role in improving dedusting performance/the degree of dedusting. Information about particle-size distribution helps predict what degrees of dedusting are achievable in jet scrubbers and Venturi scrubbers.
